Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age 60 years and above ASA physical status 1-3 Patients with fracture of femur undergoing surgery undersubarachnoid block

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients refusal Age less than 60 years allergy to local Anaesthetics bleeding diathesis neuropathy psychiatric disorder polytrauma Morbid obesity

MeasureTime frame
To compare efficacy of fascia iliaca block with ropivacaine and with levobupivacaine for analgesia to facilitate better positioning for spinal anaesthesiaTimepoint: VAS before block, at time of block, just after block, every 2hours till 6hours

To evaluate postoperatively total analgesic requirements and incidences of any adverse effectsTimepoint: 24hours
