Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged one year-five years hospitalized with recurrent (two or more hospitalizations in one year15) lower respiratory tract infections in the Department of Paediatrics, KMC, Manipal.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Child who has received Vitamin D supplementation in the preceding 3 months. 2) Children with known causes for recurrent respiratory tract infections such as: a) GERD b) Bronchiectasis c) Primary immunodeficiencies d) Cystic fibrosis e) CHD with left to right shunts (ASD >5mm) f) Foreign body aspiration g) Bronchial asthma h) Congenital anomalies of airway 3) Patients not willing to participate in the study
