Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients of age 18 to 75 years coming for various surgeries requiring radial artery cannulation according to clinical and/or surgical indications will be enrolled in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient refusal 2. Signs of infection or wound near the puncture site. 3.recent arterial cannulation at the same site in the hospital. 4. Hemodynamically unstable patients. 5. History of peripheral vascular disease. 6. Coagulopathies

ConplicationsTimepoint: If any;Need for cross overTimepoint: After 3 unsuccessful attempts , crossover of technique or person is allowed and noted.;Number of attemptsTimepoint: ONE ATTEMPT: skin puncture leading to successful cannulation or removal of the cannula from the tissue after an unsuccessful attempt. ( Redirection is taken as a single attempt).
