Intervention1: Group - BC: Rectus sheath block with 8 ml of bupivacaine hydrochloride 0.25% + 1µg/kg clonidine in 2ml saline 0.9% administered bilaterally (total dose of clonidine - 2µg/kg) Control

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Patients of ASA class I or II undergoing midline incisional hernia repair under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Morbid obesity (BMI>= 35kg/m2) Significant cardiac, hepatic or renal disease Local infection at site of block Pre-existing coagulation disorder
