Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status I and II normotensive and hypertensive adults 2. Either gender, aged >18 years 3. Scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. History of congestive heart failure, ejection fraction disease, cardiomyopathy 3. Diabetes mellitus, jaundice, hepatic or renal disease, body mass index >= 35kg/m2 4. Pregnant females

To study the correlation between preoperative pulse pressure and intraoperative haemodynamic events in controlled hypertensive adult patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anaesthesia.Timepoint: At induction, post intubation, every 10 min intraoperatively, at extubation

1. To determine the patient characteristics that are associated with intraoperative haemodynamic instability 2. To compare the incidence of haemodynamic instability between normotensive and hypertensive patients. Timepoint: Intraoperative period
