Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients with minimum of 18 natural teeth in mouth 2. chronic periodontitis patients with probing pocket depth >/ 5mm in minimum of three teeth per quadrant bilaterally in the maxillary arch.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.use of local or systemic antimicrobial agents 6 months prior to study. 2. previous periodontal therapy during last 6 months. 3.pregnancy 4. smokers 5.regular users of mouth wash. 6.chronic alcoholics 6.patients using vitamin supplements, anti inflammatory agents in past 3 months.
