Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients who have recently undergone periodontal surgery 2. Patients in good general health 3. Age group 25-65 4. Patients belonging to both the genders 5. No tooth hypersensitivity treatment during last 6 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with systemic disease 2. Mentally and physically challenged individuals 3. Patients having any systemic infection during last 6 months 4. Pregnant and lactating women 5. Smokers and alcoholics 6. Dental pathoses which cause pain similar to cervical dentinal hypersensitivity 7. Orthodontic appliances and restorations that will interfere with evaluation and possibly cause hypersensitivity

The present clinical trial has shown that sodium bicarbonate aqueous solution or baking soda mouthwash is highly effective is reducing dentin hypersensitivity after surgical periodontal therapy. Baking soda is biocompatible, readily available, economic and novel option in treating dentin hypersensitivity. Additionally, baking soda has reported to provide psychological benefit to the patients like improvement in the consistency and tone of the gingiva and decrease in the mobility of teeth.Timepoint: T0 â?? Baseline, before one week of surgery T1 â?? One week after surgery T2 â?? Two weeks after surgery T3 â?? Four weeks after surgery T4 â?? Three months after surgery
