Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients scheduled for elective laparoscopic surgical procedures with expected hospitalisation for equal and more than 2 days.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Emergency surgery 2 Surgery lasting for less than 90 minutes 3 Surgery without General Anaesthesia 4 Previous Stroke 5 Unstable angina 6 Chronic renal failure (Blood creatinine level of 2 mg/dl or higher.) 7 Previous CABG and Coronary revascularisation 8 Previous MI 9 Pregnancy induced hypertension 10 Cardiac conduction abnormalities 11 ASA grade 4 and above 12 Mental retardation

MeasureTime frame
To assess the increased hospital length of stay in patients with perioperative hypertension scheduled for elective laparoscopic surgeryTimepoint: Intraoperative course and postoperatively upto 7 days.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the perioperative cardiovascular risks in patients with hypertension scheduled for elective laparoscopic surgeryTimepoint: Intraoperative course to 7 days follow up.
