Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children between the age of 3 -17 years attending the Department of Paediatrics at the Kasturba Hospital, Manipal with BMI >95TH centile for age and sex.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Renal diseases, endocrine disorders ,SLE with proteinuria. [Children with acute febrile illness , acute infections shall be counted after the recovery from illness.]

â?¢ Significant number of obese children with microalbuminuria â?¢ Insulin Resistance and Fasting glucose level higher in obese children with microalbuminuria than in those with normoalbuminuria. â?¢ High LDL ,high triglyceride and low HDL associated with microalbuminuria. Timepoint: 1 year 6 months
