Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Age more than or equal to 18 years and a citizen of India 2) Admitted with acute decompensated heart failure Heart failure is defined as (ESC 2016) a) Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) with symptoms and signs and if left ventricular ejection fraction is below 40 percent. b) Heart failure with mid-range ejection fraction (HFmrEF) with symptoms and signs and if left ventricular ejection fraction is between 40 percent and 49 percent. c) Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) with symptoms, left ventricular ejection fraction is above or equal to 50 percent, structural heart disease by echo (LVH or LAE) or LV diastolic dysfunction, and elevated levels of natriuretic peptides (BNP > 100 pg/ml or NT-proBNP >300 pg/ml) If available.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with septicaemia as their primary diagnosis for hospital admission
