Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All married pregnant women (first contact of confirmation of pregnancy, preferably i.e. 18- 20 weeks) attending Obstetrics OPD of MAMC, LN hospital for antenatal registration 2. Both primigravida/ multigravida will be considered. 3. Consented for participation in the study by signing the informed consent form 4. Screened positive for domestic violence during last year using Abuse Screening Tool (AST). 5. Staying with the husband/ in-laws (family) for at least 2 years 6. Likely to stay in the area till delivery and attend LNJP hospital OPD for ANC 7. Willing to come to hospital for follow up as per schedule 8. Willing to allow study staff visiting her home for contact, if needed

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Those who have already registered Medico-legal case (MLC) for abuse. 2. Mentally challenged to comprehend and comply the intervention

MeasureTime frame
1. Change in health domain scale, the composite measures of physical and mental component score as assessed through survey scale SF-36 before and after interventionTimepoint: From the date of recruitment of the subject to 6 weeks post-natal period. The subject/ women will be recruited before the completion of 16 weeks of pregnancy

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. The socio-economic and demographic profile of the women. 2. To describe the profile and severity of abuse experienced and response to the abuse by these women, the Abuse Screening tool. 3. To document the improvement in level of awareness of these women. 4. To assess the change in coping style of women. 5. To record Maternal Health Indicators Timepoint: one year
