Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (a) All patients 18-70 years of age who require CIED implantation or replacement. (b) Patients with prior MI occurring at least 40 days earlier and who have NYHA functional class II or III disease and require a CIED implantation. ( c) Patients with non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy and NYHA functional class II or III disease and require a CIED implantation. (d) Patients with second or third degree block who require CIED implantation.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients whose reasonable life expectancy at an acceptable functional status is Patients who are on dual antiplatelet therapy Patients having infected implant or infection at the site of CIED implantation. Patients with deranged coagulation profile (Platelet count 1.5. Patients not giving consent for the block. Patients allergic to ropivacaine. Pregnant patients.

| To evaluate the requirement of ad on analgesia during the procedure and pain assessment with duration of analgesia after Pecs block for Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED) implantation.Timepoint: pain assessment is done by Visual analog scale at 2, 4, 10, 16, 20, 24 hours after surgery. add on analgesic requirement will be evaluated during the CIED implantation procedure which will be approximately 2 hours duration. | — |
