Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All the consenting members from the selected villages would be recruited for the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with illnesses where iron supplementation is contraindicated (such as known cases of hemoglobinopathies or history of repeated blood transfusions) and very sick people who require immediate referral would be excluded.

1. Estimated cost of reducing anaemia prevalence with the two approaches of anaemia control 2. Anaemia prevalence in population sub-groups (6-60 mo children and pregnant women) in two arms 3. Process measures by the two approaches of anaemia control: proportion of anaemic persons who get Hb evaluation, proportion of diagnosed anaemic persons who receive adequate treatment with IFA, proportion of anaemic persons who have complete recovery at 6 months. Timepoint: 2 time points - baseline and 6 months
