Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients having signs and symptoms of Amavata mentioned in Ayurvedic texts. 2. Patient willing and able to participate in the study 3. Patients of either sex aged between 20-60 years. 4. Patients who have not participated in any research projects since last 6 months. 5. Patients of Aamvata having Sama Avastha will only be included in study. 6. Patients of Rheumatoid Arthritis having controlled hypertension and diabetes mellitus may also be included. 7. All patients fulfilling a score of 6/10 is needed for classification of patient as having definite Rheumatoid Arthritis which is American criteria of rheumatoid arthritis (2010).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who are not willing for trial. 2. Patients with poorly controlled Hypertension (B.P. > 160/100 mm Hg). 3. Patients with the evidence of malignancy. 4. Pregnant or lactating ladies 5. Patient with chronicity more than >3 years. 6. Patients of Aamvata having Niraam- Avastha. 7. Patients on prolonged medication ( > 6 weeks) with corticosteroids, or any other drugs that may have an influence on the outcome of the study. 8. Patients who are currently participating in any other clinical trials (since last 6 months). 9. Any other conditions which the researcher thinks may jeopardize the study. 10. Patients with poorly controlled Diabetes Mellitus (HBA1C 6.5 to 10 mmol/dl) 11. Patients having gouty arthritis, syphilitic arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatic arthritis, tubercular arthritis, gonococcal arthritis etc. 12. Patient with contracture and having deformity in the joints. 13. Patients having gross disability in performing daily normal routine i.e. bed ridden patients or confined to a wheelchair or have to take help to perform daily routine activity.

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the effect of Devdarvyadi Ghanvati, Vaitaran Basti, without Churna Pottali Sveda and without Churna Pottali Sveda on clinical features of Amavata and disability index score of Rheumatoid arthritis. Timepoint: 1) On zero day i.e. BT value 2) Langhana and Pachana will be given for 3 days 3) From 4th day Churna Pottali Svedan along with Devdarvyadi Ghanvati and Viataran Basti will be given for 15 days in trial group. 4) Final assessment will be done on 19th day 5) Follow up assessment will be done on 34th day.
