Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Unilateral lower limb radicular pain at the time of admission. 2) Presence of any one of specific nerve root tension signs like, - Straight leg raising, 60 degree or lesser - Motor weakness at or below the level of herniation - Sensory deficit at or below level of herniation. 3) Extrusion or sequestration of intervertebral disc at L3-4/L4-L5/L5-S1 level on MRI of lumbosacral spine. 4) Herniated disc observed on magnetic resonance imaging scans

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Multiple level intervertebral disc prolapse. 2) Previous spinal surgery. 3) Radiological instability at same level. 4) Spinal canal stenosis. 5) Cauda equina syndrome. 6) Recurrent lumbar disc prolapse.
