Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria (Cases) 1.Age 18 years and above 2.Patients with children in the age group of 3-11 yrs. 3.Diagnosis of schizophrenia according to ICD 10 with PANSS 4.Are able to participate in the study 5.On regular treatment with antipsychotics. 6.Can read and write Kannada or English Inclusion Criteria(Controls): These will be selected from among acquaintances including the hospital staff, and will be matched for age,gender and education. 1.Age 18 years and above 2.Patients with children in the age group of 3-11 yrs 3.history of any psychiatric illness

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria ( Cases and Controls): 1.History of /or current medical illness that may significantly influence CNS function or structure (including mental retardation, significant head injury, seizure disorder) judged by clinical evidence. 2.Pregnancy or postpartum ( 3.Patients who are not staying with their children 4.HMSE(Hindi Mental State Examination) Score of less than 19 5.Subjects having clinically diagnosable or self-reported visual or auditory impairment
