Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients 18 years of age or older admitted in various intensive care units (ICUs) of All India Institute of Medical Sciences from July 2017 to June 2019 who fulfil the definition of sepsis or SIRS will be enrolled for the study. Patients who develop new onset sepsis or septic shock in ICU will also be included in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who received treatment with Corticosteroids or immunomodulators in previous 6 months Patients with malignancy, immunodeficiency or organ transplant recipients
