Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: undergoing any open abdominal surgeries of more than 2 hours with a minimum educational standard of fifth standard.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: those with contraindications to dexamethasone and those who deny to participate in the study
