Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All adult patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), as defined by the 2010 ACR/EULAR classification criteria, will be eligible for the study. Healthy volunteers among the hospital staff will also be recruited to define normal salivary IgA Anti-CCP levels in healthy population. They will include volunteers with good orodental hygiene.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for Healthy Volunteers: No first degree relatives with RA, no tobacco use and no past history of connective tissue disorders. Exclusion criteria for RA patients: Subjects with a history of smoking/current smokers/oral tobacco use ,with poor orodental hygiene,RA patients with coexisting connective tissue disorders like psoriatic arthritis ,Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE),Primary Sjögrenâ??s Syndrome,with a history of pulmonary tuberculosis
