Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients whose age group is 18 above and both gender, undergoing only upper abdominal surgery in surgical gastroenterology unit; patients without heart, pulmonary and/or neuromuscular disorders; • patients who are suffering from metastatic cancer; patients undergoing video-laparoscopy surgery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who are undergoing surgery to other areas; patients who are having cognitive disabilities or a history of mental illness; Patients who had not been on mechanical ventilation and/or in intensive care for more than 48hours.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
improved post operative status of the patients with the presence of a dedicated person.Timepoint: 20days.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Reduced level of post operative pain and anxiety,; and improved pulmonary function of the patients undergoing upper abdominal surgery.Timepoint: 20days.
