Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Systemically healthy subjects aged between 18 to 60 years rendering informed consent to participate in the study. 2.Subjects having at least 20 natural teeth with a minimum of three teeth in each quadrant. 3.Subjects diagnosed with chronic periodontitis according to American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) classification 1999 16 with at least 30% sites examined having >3mm attachment loss with radiographic evidence of bone loss. 4.Subjects having at least one tooth per quadrant with attachment loss >=3mm and probing depth >=4 mm with corresponding tooth in contralateral quadrant in maxilla or mandible with similar site characteristics separated by atleast one tooth.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Subjects who have received any form of surgical or non-surgical periodontal therapy within the past 6 months. 2.Subjects who have received antimicrobial and / or anti-inflammatory therapy within the past 3 months. 3.Subjects with systemic disease such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, bleeding disorders, uremia, anticoagulants, steroids and nutritional supplements. 4.Subjects who are smokers and consume tobacco and betel nut in any form 5.Pregnant women and lactating mothers. 6.Subjects having teeth with endodontic -periodontal lesions. 7.Subjects wearing orthodontic appliances. 8.Subjects with untreated grossly carious and fractured teeth. 9.Subjects with excessive functional loading. 10.Subjects having teeth with overhanging restorations and ill-fitting prosthesis. 11.Third molars. 12.Teeth with furcation involvements will not be considered as study teeth. 13.Allergy to Indocyanine Green/Sulphur Iodide.
