Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity (BMI>=25 Kg/m2) who are on metformin monotherapy for at least three months at the maximum recommended dose (2000mg/day) and having inadequately controlled glycemic parameter with metformin monotherapy. 2.Patients of either sex with age between 30 -60 years. 3.Patients/guardian willing to give written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with an active infectious disease. 2. Patients suffering from a neuropsychiatric illness like depression 3.Patients with renal or liver dysfunction. 4.Patients with a history of cardiopathies, malignancy or autoimmune diseases. 5.Patients with a history of recent acute myocardial infarction (within last three months). 6.Patients with a history of major surgical operation in the last three months. 7.Patients with any disease-producing inflammation. 8.Pregnant and lactating women
