Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients 18 years and above presenting with secondary peritonitis who requires exploratory laparotomy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - patients with primary and tertiary peritonitis - patients presenting with peritonitis following surgery - patients undergoing surgery at another hospital for peritonitis and referred for further management.
