Interventions

Intervention1: trans nasal esophagoscopy: transnasal esophagoscopy will be done by using a OEV262H monitor system (Olympus, Japan) with a high-resolution CV-170 endoscope (Olympus, Japan)

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Newly diagnosed cases of oral cavity, oropharyngeal, hypopharyngeal and laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients refusing consent for the procedure 2. Recurrent or residual disease and post treatment cases 3. Clinical conditions precluding upper GI endoscopic examination
