Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the percentage of BAL fluid recovery in two different suctioning techniques namely continuous wall suctioning and manual syringe suctioning directly through the working channel of the bronchoscope in children aged 1 month to 18 years who will undergo flexible bronchoscopy and BALTimepoint: after completion of total sample size

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Compare the total cell count and differential count in each mode of suctioning techniqueTimepoint: after completion of total sample size;2. Compare the ease of performing technically acceptable BAL in each modes of suctioning ( 40% fluid recovery).Timepoint: after completion of total sample size;3. Compare microbiological, fungal culture positivity in each mode of suctioningTimepoint: after completion of total sample size
