Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. On invasive mechanical ventilation 2. Oxygenation index > 8 or Oxygen saturation index >7.5

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Esophageal injury 2. Recent surgery involving esophagus 3. Major bronchopleural fistula 4. Solid-organ transplants 5. High Frequency oscillatory ventilation/ECMO 6. Severe oral-nasal bleeds 7. Congenital heart disease 8. Abnormal hemoglobin
