Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American society of anesthesiologist (ASA) physical status I and II and scheduled to undergo upper extremity (from mid upper arm to wrist) orthopaedic surgery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of coagulopathy, Infection at the needle insertion site, Severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Pre-existing neuropathy, Pneumothorax, Contralateral diaphragmatic paralysis, Pregnancy, Mental incompetence, Opioid and other drug addiction, Known allergy to LAs Difficult to obtain adequate ultrasound images of the supraclavicular area.

MeasureTime frame
To study time to 4-nerve sensory block onset in each of the 4 major nerve distributions: median, ulnar, radial and musculocutaneous.Timepoint: Every 30 seconds after completion of injection till the development of complete sensory block to pin prick in all the four nerve distribution areas.—

MeasureTime frame
To study time to onset of first sensory block, time to complete motor block, duration of analgesia and pain scores at rest and with movement.Timepoint: From completion of LA injection till 24 hour after surgery—
