Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Typically developing Native Kannada speaking Children (children whose native place is in Udupi taluk and speaks Kannada at home) Age when the children will be recruited for each cohort:- Cohort 1: 36 months Cohort 2: 60 months Cohort 3: 84 months The children studying in English and Kannada medium will be recruited for this study. This study considers parents, children, and teachers who are willing to co-operate for the follow-ups and to participate in the study until the completion. Gender: Both Males and Females
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Children who have speech/ language/ hearing/ any other disorders will not be considered for the study (Screening will be done with Assessment of language development (ALD) developed by Lakkanna, S., Venkatesh, K & Bhat, J. S. (2008. Children who have learning difficulties will not be considered for study(Screening will be done with:- a) Dyslexia Assessment for Languages of India (DALI) developed by National Brain Research centre (NBRC) (2005) for cohort 2 and 3. b) Pre-reading and writing skills screening will be done for cohort 1
