Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients having Class I malocclusion with large overjet or bimaxillary protrusion, or Class II Division 1 malocclusion, with relatively well aligned arches with large overjet, requiring therapeutic bilateral first premolar extractions with subsequent retraction of canine. Patients with healthy systemic condition. Patients with no previous history of orthodontic treatment. Patients having fair oral hygiene. Patients with periodontal probing depth not exceeding 3 mm. Patients with no active periodontal disease and alveolar bone loss. No requirement of critical anchorage
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with severe crowding in the maxillary arch. Patients with active periodontal disease and alveolar bone loss. Patients with systemic disease making prolonged use of NSAIDs or corticosteroids. Patients taking any medication that slows down the bone metabolism such as bisphosphonates. Patients with gingival recession.
