In this study at first patients nutritional status will be assessed and according to the requirement of calorie and protein preoperative nutrition will be given for 7 days prior to operation. It will help to recover early, less infection and maintain protein level.

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing all type of gastrointestinal surgery during study period Patients able to take orally or through nasogastric tube Patients above 18 years
