Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients giving voluntary informed consent for enrolling into the study 2. Patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment undergoing vitreoretinal surgery 3. Proliferative vitreoretinopathy less than grade C1 4. Above 18yrs

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Macular pathology other than retinal detachment affecting visual outcome 2. Glaucoma 3. Any optic nerve pathology 4. Previously failed retinal surgery/buckling
