Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All individuals who have attempted suicide within the last thirty days presenting to study site All individuals with stable blood pressure and intact respiration and intact orientation to time place and person

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: A current diagnosis of psychosis a diagnosis of substance dependence over last 6 months as elicited by M.I.N.I 5.0 Mental retardation or illness causing significant cognitive impairment serious medical illness like AIDS, end stage cancer, less than a month after a stroke or myocardial infarction
