Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Biopsy-proven, primary, low rectal cancer of histology adenocarcinoma and no previous therapy for rectal cancer, Patient consenting. No organ failure
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patient not consenting, Current pregnancy, Previous pelvic/rectal malignancy, Previous pelvic radiotherapy, Previous pelvic surgeries especially for fecal incontinence or prolapse. General MRI contraindications -- Pregnancy, Implanted metal devices, Pacemakers, Cochlear implants, Artificial cardiac valves, Claustrophobia or cardio-pulmonary dysfunction patients who are unable to tolerate a MRI.
