Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA I or II Weight between 10-30 kg Undergoing elective surgeries in supine position requiring general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Upper respiratory tract infection (cough, fever, rhinorrhea) at the day of surgery. 2. Respiratory tract pathology ( oropharynx, larynx ) 3. Anticipated difficult airway 4. Children at increased risk of aspiration - Gastro esophageal reflux disease, non fasting status 5. Hiatus hernia 6. Lung diseases 7. Cardiorespiratory or cerebrovascular disease

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Fiberoptic assessment of air-Q position using two insertion techniques i.e. midline technique and rotational techniqueTimepoint: Immediately after insertion of air-Q

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Number of attempts for successful air-Q insertion 2. Time taken for insertion 3. Oropharyngeal leak pressure 4. Occurrence of complications such as trauma, laryngospasm, and hypoxemia (Spo2 90%) Timepoint: During insertion of air-Q Immediately after insertion of air-Q After removal of air-Q
