Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients 30 years or more with moderate to severe chronic generalized periodontitis having probing pocket depth >= 5mm on contralateral sites and indicated for surgery. 2.Patients having 20 or more teeth. 3.Patients with bilateral Millerâ??s Class I & II gingival recession sites and CAL >= 4mm 4.Patients with pronounced bilateral melanin pigmentation associated with a healthy periodontium. (Dummettâ??s Score). 5.Sites with furcation involvement. 6.No definitive periodontal treatment during 6 months prior to enrollment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients suffering from any known systemic diseases and disorders affecting wound healing. 2.Chronic or continuous use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs within the preceeding two months. 3.Patients under systemic antibiotics, corticosteroids or immunosuppressive drugs. 4.Pregnant women or lactating women.
