Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Established gingivitis cases having a mean plaque index of 1.5 as per Turesky Gilmor Glickman modification of Quigley Hein Plaque inex and a mean gingival index of 1 as per Loe and silness index. Minimum of 20 teeth excluding third molars. Available for the 3 week study period.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Established Periodontitis subjects. Subjects with systemic disease that influences the periodontium. Subjects with history of partial dentures orthodontic bands. History of allergy to chlorhexidine. Subjects having used mouth wash or antibiotics in the last 3 months. Smokers tobacco chewers and pregnant women.
