Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Subjects having a minimum of 24 natural teeth excluding the third molars 2.Presence of dental calculus on the surfaces of the teeth 3.Subjects should be systemically healthy 4.No history of periodontal treatment in the last 6 months 5.Control subjects will be age and gender matched to test group subjects
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with a history of any systemic disease (Diabetes mellitus, hypertension, liver disease, kidney disease ) 2.Patients with a history of antibiotic, anti- inflammatory or immunosuppressive drug therapy 6 month prior to the study. 3.Patients with history of any salivary gland diseases 4.Patients with any apparent oral infections (i.e. herpes or candidiasis ) 5.Patients with a history of radiation therapy. 6.Pregnant and lactating women. 7.Patients who are chronic smokers, tobacco users and alcohol users. 8.Denture wearers.
