Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Healthy donors: a. Age >= 50 b. Both males and females c. No known exposure to chemical/ drug exposure 2) COPD Patients: a. Age >= 50 with a history of smoking b. Both males and females c. Clinically confirmed COPD d. Willing to participate in the study 3) Lung Cancer Patients: a. Age >= 18 years b. Both males and females c. Clinically confirmed lung cancer d. Willing to participate in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Healthy donors: a. Age b. Individuals with a history of lung disorder. c. Individuals with inflammatory conditions or infection during past two months 2) COPD Patients: a. Age b. Patients currently/past one week on oral or injectable corticosteroids c. Patients with other co-morbid conditions 3) Lung Cancer Patients: a. Patients with other co-morbid conditions

i) Cytokine levels in healthy population/COPD/metastatic lung cancer/non metastatic lung cancer and their comparisons. ii) Association between cytokine levels and clinical outcomes in lung cancer patients (metastatic and non-metastatic)Timepoint: At enrollment and every six months (after that) for COPD patients; at enrollment and 3 year follow up for lung cancer patients; at enrollment for health volunteers
