Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with known history of diabetes with generalized chronic periodontitis diagnosed clinically with presence of periodontal pockets and radiographically with bone loss. No non- steroidal or anti- inflammatory drugs within the past 6 months.No history of periodontal treatment 6 months before the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Smokers and tobacco users. Aggressive periodontitis patients. Systemic diseases. Subjects on any medication taken within the last 6 months which may alter the periodontal status.Hemolytic anemia or recent significant blood loss. Pregnant and lactating mothers.
