Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Adult males and females with minimum 20 natural teeth present 2 sulcus probing depth less than or equal to 3mm 3 mean Modified Gingival Index score more than or equal to 1, exhibiting signs of gingival inflammation corresponding to chronic gingivitis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Subjects who have received any form of periodontal therapy, surgical or non surgical within past 6 months. 2 Subjects who have received antibiotic and / anti inflammatory therapy within the past 6 months. 3 Subjects wearing orthodontic or prosthetic appliances. 4 Immunologically and systemically compromised subjects (history of diabetes mellitus, irritable bowel disease, pulmonary disease, multiple sclerosis, bacterial, viral and fungal infections, psychiatric disease, hematologic disorders). 5 Subjects who give present or past history of drug abuse, smoking. 6 Subjects on regular use of Calcium antagonist, anticonvulsants, immunostimulants or immunosuppressantâ??s. 7 History of known allergies to constituents found in conventional toothpastes. 8 Subjects with a habit of mouth breathing, par functional habits like bruxism, clenching etc. 9 Subjects with lip piercing, tongue piercing. 10 Physically debilitated subjects. 11 Pregnant and lactating women. 12 Subjects with untreated grossly carious teeth.
