Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with age group between 20 years to 40 years. 2. Patients with mandibular fractures. 3. Patients with ASA II criteria

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Bone pathologies(tumours,cysts etc) 2.Patients with fracture(s) pertaining to regions other than mandible. 3.Patients with recent extraction of tooth/teeth

MeasureTime frame
1.To assess that calcitonin promotes a faster bone healing in systemically compromised patients. 2.To assess a better quality of life in these patients by fore said parameters. Timepoint: 1.To collect pre-op blood sample,extract plasma,and assess osteocalcin level. 2.To assess pain by visual analogue scale from post-op day 1 to day 7 followed by assessment after every 7 days,upto 1 month. 3.To collect post-op blood sample after 30th day,extract plasma,and assess osteocalcin level.
