Interventions

Intervention1: Laryngeal Mask Airway placement after extubation: At the end of surgery, patient is extubated while the patient is still in deeper planes of anaesthesia and then a Laryngeal mask airway

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients belonging to ASA PS I and II, aged between 20 and 60 years, of either gender, weighing 40 â?? 80 kgs, undergoing surgical procedures requiring general anaesthesia and endotracheal intubation will be enrolled

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients not fulfilling inclusion criteria (e.g. Patients at risk of aspiration, anticipated difficult airway, BMI > 30 kg/m2, those requiring postoperative ventilation, head and neck surgeries) will be excluded.

Rate of optimum placement of the laryngeal mask airway in the first attempt by the two methods â?? LMA placement will be deemed optimal when adequate chest expansion and a square wave capnogram is obtained.Timepoint: From the end of surgery till the end of anaesthesia
