Intervention1: Intensive Counselling: A 3 phase counselling planned with an average duration of 25-30 minutes each. This will bring out the harmful effects of tobacco and stories of successful quiting

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Individuals more than 18 years of age, residing in the rural field practice area of JIPMER with self-reported use of smoking or smoke-less tobacco in the past one month. 2.Availability of mobile phone at household (at least one member in the family who dines with the participant at least once a day)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Critically ill (bedridden) 2.Physician diagnosed case of current unstable cardiovascular disease, current psychiatric illness. 3.Visually and hearing challenged individuals
