Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with isolated TBI requiring surgery 2. Surgery performed within 48 hours after insult

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of extracranial injuries (such as but not limited to orthopedic/ chest/ cardiac/ abdominal/ pelvis) 2. Penetrating craniocerebral injury 3. Pregnancy

MeasureTime frame
To study incidence, nature and characteristics of cardiac dysfunction in surgically treated TBI patients.Timepoint: Before surgery, During surgery and after surgery daily for 7 days.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To identify risk factors and predictors of cardiac dysfunction in these patients.Timepoint: Before surgery, During surgery and after surgery daily for 7 days.;To study the impact of cardiac dysfunction on neurological outcome at hospital discharge.Timepoint: Before surgery, During surgery and after surgery daily for 7 days.
