Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adult patients of atrial fibrillation and patients requiring valve replacement surgeries on chronic anticoagulation therapy with warfarin
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with known contraindications to anticoagulant therapy, 2. Patients of transient atrial fibrillation secondary to reversible disorders such as thyrotoxicosis, cardiothoracic surgery and severe anaemia, 3. Patients with underlying hepatic (defined as elevation in alanine/ aspartate transaminase >2.5 times the upper limit of normal) and or severe renal insufficiency(defined as creatinine clearance of 4. Pregnant and nursing women, 5. Patients unwilling to participate in the study.
