Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Cases: Five households having at least two members having chronic extensive recalcitrant dermatophytosis will be chosen for the study. Controls: Five houses whose members are not suffering from infection for last three months will be the controls.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who do not consent

This study will help in bringing out the role of fomite transmission and air borne transmission of dermatophytes, especially in recalcitrant and recurrent cases. If this novel study establishes the importance of air borne transmission in dermatophytoses, it will open a whole new approach to prevention and management of tinea infection.Timepoint: 6 months
