Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients sustaining the severe head injury with GCS equal or less than 8 2. Patients arriving in ICU with the severe head injury within 24 hours

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients presenting after 48 hours of severe head injury. 2. Patients with liver failure. 3. Patients with Chronic kidney failure. 4. Patients on biguanides like metformin. 5. Patients with associated Diabetic ketoacidosis, methanol/salicylate poisoning.
