Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with clinical diagnosis of melasma.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients suffering from any significant systemic illness. 2. Patient with known hypersensitivity to tranexamic acid. 3. Patients with any other facial dermatoses. 4. Patients on anticoagulants, oral contraceptive pills, hormone replacement therapy, NSAIDs, antiepileptic medications, isotretinoin or any other phototoxic medication. 5. Pregnancy and lactation. 6. History of thrombotic disease like DVT.

percentage reduction in Modified MASI (Melasma Area Severity Index) of each half of the face, respose as follow:- No response Minimal or poor response- 0-25% reduction in the modified MASI score Partial or fair response- 26%-50% reduction in the modified MASI score Good response- 51-75% reduction in the modified MASI score Excellent- 75% reduction in the modified MASI score Timepoint: at baseline,2,4 and 8 weeks
