Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Cases: Children with Nephrotic Syndrome attending outpatient clinic. Controls: healthy children attending immunisation or well baby clinics.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients having steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome 2) Atypical features suggesting secondary NS: haematuria, hypertension, renal failure, rash, arthritis. 3) Patients or controls having any other acute or chronic illness 4) Patients or controls requiring hospitalisation 5) Patients or controls who received vitamin D therapy in the last 6 months
