Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients whose maxillary first premolars are indicated for extraction. Patients in the age group of 18-48 years. Average skeletal pattern. Minimal 5mm of extraction space available for canine retraction

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with any systemic illness. Previous history of orthodontic treatment. Presences of any signs and symptoms of gingival and periodontal disease. Poor oral hygiene for more than 2 visits. Evidence of bone loss. Patients with deep caries. Habits such as smoking, chewing the paan, consumption of alcohol Patient taking medications that can interfere with orthodontic tooth movement.
